I was scrolling on the Nextdoor app when a comment stopped me immediately. The question was “What is a fond memory you have of Bremerton?” The response was that the person had opened their own store downtown on Pacific Avenue, The Witches’ Hut. I checked the name. Yep. Gerry Nichols.
I sort of know Gerry, insofar as I know a lot about her and her business The Witches’ Hut, which was a beauty shop with a “Bewitched” ad theme. The ads are prolific, very cute, and they tell a very personal story of the shop and the people who worked in it.
The only issue is–There are too many of them for me to post today. I was kicked out of the archives. Banned. Exiled. Banished from clipping anything more about the plucky witch coven that once worked beauty spells in Bremerton’s old downtown. And so, I present a draft of this story. There will be more to come once the archives forgives me of my sins (or until I research how to get around this.
Behold, the story of The Witches’ Hut, told in their own words.

And here’s my favorite . . . the arrival of the new “Wee Witch.”
